Soooo sweaty. Been trimming the weeds against the fence and the crazy vines that curl towards you like they want to eat you. We have a nice backyard, but I should have taken before an after photos. The wildness that was consuming the fence actually ate away at the space of our backyard by many many feet. It was crazy.
I also planted me an herb/vegetable garden. And got really pissed off a billion times. Shovelling through grass to create a plot for a garden is TOUGH!
Since it's so late in the season, we went an bought pre-started growths, and given how late it is, I got wicked deals on everything.
I bought 4 tomato plants (2 pink rose, one celebrity and one cherry tomato) because last year our prestarted tomatos flourished! We also have some lavender, already with some flowers on them, some oregano and I think either thyme or tarragon - it lost it's tag and I can't remember which I settled on.
I also have a chamomile and an echinaccea, and three green bell peppers, already with some peppers starting to grow.
It looks pretty.
I also have some flowers to plant if the weather is nice tomorrow. A beautiful pink asian lily (and I am planning to pull the crazy bush of tiger lilies from the back yard - they are out of control and right in front of the gate!). I also got a Dragon's wing, some daisies and something pink that Alec's dad recognized, but I've forgotten - common enough that I shouldn't have forgotten so quickly.
Anyway, our back yard is full of stinging nettles, so right now both of my hands are throbbing. How can I get rid of them. They're a real problem.
Also, this part of town has a billion kazillion and a hundred million mosquitos. Seriously. I just hung out with about 4 hundred thousand of them as dusk fell and they loved me. They loved me all over and sucked my blood. I've gotten a lot better about not freaking ut. I just did what I had to do. I am finding that I don't react as much any more. Some bites still swell really badly, but for the most part I can ignore the majority of them. At least I can when all I can feel is the nettle stings in my hand.
This is a boring entry, isn't it? I have more pictures of Avery to download. Don't know from when - I just know my camera needs a download - could be boring as well. We'll see.
